Can my tooth be saved instead of extracted?

If another dentist has recommended extraction and you're unsure, a second opinion costs you one visit and might save your tooth.

Is tooth extraction painful?

No — the area is completely numbed with local anaesthesia before we begin. You'll feel some pressure and movement, but no pain. Afterwards, mild soreness for a day or two is normal and easily managed with the prescribed medication.

How long does it take to recover?

Most patients feel back to normal within 24–72 hours, with the site healing fully over the following weeks. Sticking to soft foods initially, avoiding smoking and straws, and following your aftercare sheet keeps recovery quick and uneventful.

What is dry socket, and how do I avoid it?

Dry socket happens when the protective blood clot in the extraction site gets dislodged, exposing bone and causing sharp pain a few days after removal. It's uncommon and largely preventable: no smoking, no straws, no vigorous rinsing for the first few days. If pain suddenly worsens instead of improving, contact us — it's quickly treatable.

What can I eat after an extraction?
